Bike King Borders
Built with HTML & CSS – Framework Bootstrap 3.
This is my first ever website created. This was the assessment for Web Technologies for my HNC. We were shown how to use flex and were given the opportunity to learn any frameworks in our own time. I learned how to use Bootstrap 3 which is used for this website.
Sadly, I thought dark colours and border boxes were awesome in the beginning of building sites. There are alot of issues with the website from a horizontal scroll bar on any view (which is caused by having no container/container-fluid class) to the border boxes not having a vertical height so just do what the want.
I had alot of fun building this website and this is what started me on my web development journey. I learned alot from this website, mostly of what not to do.
NCL Walking Club
This project was the first time ever using WordPress. We were given a brief to follow with a set of instructions on how to work WordPress.
I found themeforest do free themes monthly and used an automotive theme for my website. We had to find the information ourselves which was very stressful. I found this website very hard to build and a very tough learning curve. I thought WordPress was easy but I made it very hard. The website is built using the theme and WP Bakery builder which came with the theme.
Royal Theatre
Built with HTML, CSS, PHP & MySQL – Framework Bootstrap 3.
This was my first introduction to PHP and MySQL. I love MySQL since this as well as coding using .php as I get to use includes. This speeds my development time up tremendously.
The website is very basic but has more to it than what was required. It is built on Bootstrap for the responsiveness but this was not a requirement.
Silver Hills
Built with HTML & CSS – Framework Bootstrap 3.
This project was mainly about SEO. We were tasked to build a website that implements SEO techniques and passes w3c validation. This project was mainly about website title different on each page as applicable, keywords fit each page as well as the descriptions in the meta. Website was to be responsive.
During this time I loved complimentary colours which was another big mistake to make. My website is very bright and stands out for the wrong reasons. Built again on Bootstrap 3 for the responsiveness with the same mistakes as the BKB website and again I learned alot from this, mainly what not to do going forward into my journey.
